For over a decade of my career I worked at Impact Technologies. During my time there I worked on a number of FinTech applications. I handled both the UI Design and Frontend Development for a suite of apps. As you imagine, during a decade long run we saw a number of changes on our tech stack. Some of the early apps were built in pure JS & HTML, then KnockoutJS & Foundation, finally we settled on AngularJS with Bootstrap.
Cash Flow Decisions
Cash Flow Decisions was a complete wealth management app. It took into account the users age, insurance policies, savings, annual salary, and social security benefit to illustrate how much income a customer would have throughout their retirement. We named the final screen of the app "the playground", on this screen a customer could tweak their retirement age, death age, and expenses to illustrate how long their savings will last.
Social Security Gen
This was a simple customer prospecting app that CFP's could send out to prospective customers with the hopes it would illustrate how the CFP can help those customers plan for their retirement.
Social Security Pro
Social Security Pro was an app to help pre-retirees choose the best age to start taking social security. We came up with a XY matrix graph to show all possible ages they could start their social security. The CFP could click on any the 81 tiles to see how much their customers would receive if they start social security at that age. After they select an age, the app would then generate a printed report with all the info they need to maximize their social security.
